Whats the best sounding exhaust for my 98 CL? Want the deep throttle sound. Not the high pitch scream.

 

First question, are you a 3.0 or 2.x?

A number of people on here have bought full cat-back systems. Others like me have gone and pieced together custom exhausts and run all new piping. It really depends on what your goals are, how much you're willing to spend, etc. I pieced my exhaust together bit by bit, and am extremely happy with it.

 

start with a higher flow muffler and go from there till you get the sound you like.
1st-turbo muffler
-if not good enough-
2nd-strait through muffler (glass pack in my day, the cans today)
-if not good enough-
3rd-high flow cat and straight through muffler (glass pack)
-if to loud put the turbo muffler back on and you should be good
-if not good enough
4th-no cat and straight through muffler (glass pack)
-if just too loud add a resonator (can be a glass pack)
- if not loud enough
5th- from exhaust manifold, exit pipe(s) out behind the front wheel(s) for concussive ear drum annihilating tone with flames to boot.

 

I have a 3.0 CL. I will more then likly do it apiece at a time.Tnks for info. Looking at magnum exhaust system no cat.
