Smog test fail due to high NO(PPM)
I took my CL to get the smog done yesterday and it failed due to the NO (PPM) being too high. It measured 492 which is above the maximum. Can it be due to my AEM cold air intake? The intake does have a carb sticker and i thought these were smog legal so i don't know why it would fail. And i also just replaced the thermostat las week. Anyone have any suggestions?

sounds like your Cat isn't doing its job... the intake might be making things run a little lean ... our cars are very finicky about intake velocities... if you are only over by a small amount, u may also have a bad batch of gas... throw some seafoam into the exisiting tank... run it dry, check your plugs and clean your filter element, or switch back the stock air box. then make sure u go to a shell/chevron and get good gas.

The car is currently running on NGK iridium plugs and magnecor wires which I changed about 5 months ago and I changed the fuel filter about 5 months ago as well & pumped a full tank of 76 mid-grade the other day. And the thing with the intake is that I don't have the original one, I bought the car with the AEM. I was wondering if I should change the plugs to double platinum cuz I've heard different things about running a vtec engine with iridiums.

platinum will last you longer... just don't you DARE use bosche... stick with NGK, easiest to get them from dealer if your local autozone doesn't have it.. but usually a good cleaning should help, search for Seafoaming DIY threads all over the forms, change oil/fill up with 91... should be good to go... if its the a washable filter clean/reoil. Also get some carburetor cleaner or seafoam brand "deep creep" and clean your butterfly vavles @ the throttle body.
This is stuff you should do every 25-30k to keep your car happy any ways after the seafoam, make sure you do some "aggressive" driving to help blow out all the crud it cleans off ur engine parts and just double chk the plugs to make sure they didnt' get gunked up.
That should just about cover everything that you can easily do yourself..if you took it to a shop they pretty much try to clean everything out and I know on the older hondas with high miles the ERG valve can clog and cause you to fail emissions, not sure if the CL has the same issues...
