Question?? egr flow??

Question for my peeps! Do you think a bad/fouled spark plug could effect the egr flow and cause the C.E.L. to come on? I would think a fouled plug wouldn't burn the gas, therefore setting off the sensor that tests the air/gas flow. What are your thoughts?? I have an egr efficient flow problem. I have done everything to fix it, 1) Seafoam..2) New EGR valve...3) Cleaned and un clogged intake, 4) Checked for vacume leaks around the motor.... CEL is still on. BTW its a 99CL 3.0. Comments about the plug question and any OTHER suggestions are appreciated!

anytimne I see the bad egr flow on these cars I think of it needing the port cleaned out. I don't think a plug would cause it because egr flow means something is stopped up causing it to not flow

SEAFOAM IT AGAIN! lol ; no really; disassembly of the ports and thorough cleaning would probably help. dont forget to check vac hoses.

Seafoam!!! AHHHHHHH.. lol, I cleaned the ports once, I am going to try again. Maybe I didn't clean it good enough or something. I sprayed brake cleaner on the hoses and the idle never changed, I don;t think its a vacume prob. But I read on here about a couple people having to clean the intake again. I only used one can of intake cleaner, everyone on here says it take atleast 3 cans, I know I cleaned the top of the ports real well, but I am thinking I need to get a flexible wire brush and push it through the ports to get the carbon I couldn't get to with the drill bit which I used to scrape it last time. I am going to do it tomorrow. I'll post with an update.

I had to do mine twice because I only cleaned the port in the intake and forgot to clean the port in the head. So even though the intake port was fine the other was still horribly clogged up. I did it the second time and have never had another problem with it in the past year so far

Alright Peeps, here's the deal with my ride. I took apart and recleaned the intake. I noticed when cleaning the intake egr port I had thought I did a good enough job. After spraying cleaner and scraping the carbon, I sprayed it clean with he water hose. When I sprayed into the egr port of the intake, the water was not going down. So I stuck my drill bit in the port and broke through the carbon that was blocking the port. It was way down in there, it took my entire drill bit to get it. If I didn't spray it with water, I would have never known it was still clogged. The angled port makes it a little difficult to clean. I have driven 12 miles and no CEL, I drove it 4 miles last time and the CEL came back on. My fingers are crossed that it passes inspection this afternoon.

take the egr vavle off and run the motor and spray sea foam in the intake side. if it does not pull in your intake is cloged with carbon build up. have to drain coolent and pull off and clean.
