Overheated while ac is running
Ok, so the weather has been really hot lately. While I was driving the other day, I had the ac running while climbing a steep hill and I noticed my temp climb up a lol past half. When I turned the ac off and passed the hill, the temp went back to normal. When i drove home, I was driving on a steady level and not climbing and hills so I had the ac on, but while i was already close to home, I noticed that my temp was slowly climbing to half and when I turned the ac off, the temp again went back to normal. Can this be a clogged radiator? Or maybe I need to replace the radiator? Or a problem with my condenser? The head gasket, water pump, thermostat, and radiator fan switch were all replaced this last feb. the heater valve and most of the heater hoses were replaced early last year.
Check your fluid levels and make sure the system was properly bled to begin with.
The reason the temp went down went you turned the A/C on is because the water valve opened and allowed the hot coolant to flow thru the complete system Including the heater core. Plus, the A/C puts an extra load on the vehicle .
