options about headlights
hey guys i am new here and wanted to know about some options about what to do with my 98 cl headlights.
The reason being is that I CANNOT see anything at night with them, sometimes i cant tell if their even on.
I have already tried to wetsand the lights and was not satisfied with the end result. I called acura to see if i could buy some new ones but for $300+ that aint happening.
I went to certifit to try and pick up some depo lights and they said that it would be around 2 weeks if they get some in.
Could I just buy the lenses and use the old housing? and how difficult would this be to do?
Are they like the civic lights with that grey glue that you have to heat up before you can take them apart?
I did serch to see if they have already brought this topic up, and if its a repost i apologize.

You can get depo lights on ebay for cheaper, as far as the lenses, you can't just buy the lenses, they are held together with silicone sealant, however taking them apart won't improve the light output any. After you wetsanded them, did you polish the headlights with some plastix or anything? Have you tried getting brighter headlight bulbs? Like some silverstar ultras or something, or thought about an HID kit? That would improve the visibility

yeah i used the plastic x and it made it better but not great.
i had the siverstar and one of them blew out so i put the stock back on.
if I go with a hid kit, i would also have to get projectors right?

FWIW, I can't see a damn thing at night with new headlight lenses with just stock bulbs. The plug and play HIDs will make a big difference.

No those are not stock fog lights, these are the stock oem fog lights, my car looks nothing like this anymore, but you get the idea.

And you can get a plug and play 9006 hid kit for your stock headlights

I had a KAIXEN set, it was nice. There's a group buy for them. A bit expensive, but worth it IMO. The kit is very well put together. However, the lowest K they make is 6000k, which is too blue for my tastes.
I had a random eBay 5000k kit that worked just fine until my alarm went off and fried the ballast. It wasn't put together as well, but the output was great.
