What does the maintenance required light exactly mean? I have a 99 3.0cl and the thing is on red? does it mean I need a oil change or do I just goto a shop and see what maintenance is required? everytime i get a oil change, the things is still on red, do I have to remind them to set it back on green? or is it another problem?

 

go up to autozone and have them check your OBDII for codes, and reset it.

 

i live in canada so i dont have a autozone

 

It's just a maintenance reminder feature, triggered on mileage and does not actively monitor anything. It will stay red until you reset it.

In your cluster guage, there's a button that you can't press with your finger. Stick your key in there, while the engine is off and it will turn to green.
