So I got my CL a month ago...and it was great...really, really great! Twas the envy of all my friends - the classy sexy car... really well taken care of by the previous owner.

The only thing that i needed to change were the tires...and I was savin up for them...and last thursday, I slid into someone on my way to work and banged up my baby...

Someone told me about this forum...and I was wondering if anyone here knows of a place that i can get a replacement hood (used or new) for a good price. I'm not going to go through insurance because of the premium hikes (I've checked).

Any help whatsoever would be greatly appreciated.

 

i think your best bet would be junk yard or ebay

 

Ebay is probably your best bet but look around on here and find some of the guys that have CF hoods. They might come off their old hood

Thanks for the suggestions... I've tried searching both ebay and junkyards with no luck...still waiting on acuraautoparts to get back to me on how much shipping is to Canada...

Well...seems like acuraautomotiveparts.org won't ship to Canada - or anywhere for that matter - hoods are pick-up only

Goodluck findin a hood. I banged mine up like 2 yrs ago...(it was still functional, and stayed locked down....but it was all bent and creased in the front by the grille)

I looked and looked, searched ebay, junkyards, internet parts/junkyards like "car-parts.com," and I coudnt find anything. Acura wanted some ungodly amount of like $1,100 for a new OEM painted hood.

I ended up waiting and waiting...(about 1 whole yr dealing w/ a busted ass hood), trying to find a cheaper hood, and then all the sudden, I was involved w/ the CF hood groupbuy.
Im actually removing the CF hood and putting the busted ass on back on for the next 3 weeks...(im driving 1800miles in 10 days)

My advice to you, is just to keep looking and searching...hopefully you'll be able to find on somewhere, thats cheaper than the "stealership" Goodluck!

 

Wow...that's really rough... I was just going to ask what a good price for a hood SHOULD be...? Because when I first went to Acura, they said that they could get me an unpainted/primed hood for $605 Cdn -plus our 15% tax which'd come out to 695.75
I work part-time at a Futureshop (Best Buy's Canadian counterpart) and I'd sold this Honda dealer this laptop...so I gave him a call and he said he'd get me the same part from Acura for $450-tax in..so I'm wondering if that's probably the best price I'm going to find? Anyone know roughly how much it should cost me for a paint-job on a hood?

 

That sounds like a sweet deal, go for that. Hookups are a godsend for the car business.

 

Im too lazy to look, but where are they located. You could have someone pick it up for you, then ship it to you. People on here are pretty cool. Theyve done it before for people.
