MT shifters

is there any shift knob, besides our stock hideous one, that we can swap with, without making it a short shifter?

From: is everything.
Tons on ebay that are prethreaded for Honda/Acura if you just want a knob.

what wrong with shorter throw? good for quick shifts.

personally i like the way polished or gunmetal type r knobs look, but then if you have a metal knob its freezing cold in the winter and burning hot in the summer, but looks good

^i have a partially metal knob on mine, in the summer it was never burning hot usually ncie and cold for the first little while actually. In the winter it can get cold, but only on the days where you'd be wearing gloves outside and possibly in your car too. On the coldish days it warms up really quickly tho with the heat from your hands and all, like maybe a couple minutes

Related question: Is there a certain type of shift knob that will have the clip things on the bottom like the OEM one to hold up the shift boot? Or is there a way to mod one to hold onto the shift boot, like by somehow attaching the clips to one or something? i just hate the way my shift boot falls down sometimes and exposes the shifter rod

haha, your rod's exposed.

mine gets hot cause it was in direct sunlight and is polished.
as for the your exposed shifter, remove your console and wrap enough electrical tape on it to keep the boot from slipping down

^^ I am having mine put on friday probably, and I use an 03 CL-s shift knob. Feels better than the stock one. More snug.

i hate the stock shifter. its ugly and it doesnt feel right. i cant wait to replace mine

a shift knob is just a knob, it won't affect the throw.

if you want a smaller throw, a short shifter will do so. as previously stated, a prelude shifter fits in our cars. it shortens the throw and lowers the shifter by about an inch. other brands (fidanza, etc) can make it smaller, but they're usually more expensive. klepto did a DIY for the prelude shifter.

Will a 03-07 Accord 5MT shift knob and boot fit our 2.3's? The shifter in mines just looks so...boring.

mods are just gonna tell you to take that stuff to BM, make a thread, and copy a link of it here

btw is there any shifters to replace ours that have the little clips to hold up the shift boot.
cuz the previous owner of my car put an aftermarket momo one on but it doesn't hold up the boot at all, which makes it look like

I kinda like the factory knob, except for the fact that my "chrome trim" on the front right side is coming off, and I've cut my hand open on it multiple times... That'd be my only reason to put a new knob on there...

Nate, why would you put a 6 speed knob on a 5 speed shifter?
