Mileage on the 2.2 97 cl

What's up everyone... I was wondering how many miles the first gen cl's are known to run before having any serious issues as far as the engine... my car has 188,000 on it and is a daily driver. I'm having some tranny issues and am considering a swap so if anyone knows of any good transmissions for this car I would really appreciate to know that too. Thanks you guys...

Ha, gotcha. Thanks. I'm considering the trade up. I miss manual trans, but sometimes its a drag in LA traffic/ hills/ work commute... basically the auto is a good daily driver but I am considering jumping on a newer manual one too.

I just hit 191K yesterday. Daily Driver and have had no major problems. The trans was slipping around 170K and still does every so often on extremly hot days and long trips. The only things replaced on the car in its lifetime is a battery, tires, brakes, radiator, passenger side cv halfshaft, passenger side rear brake caliper. At 100K, the timing belt was replaced and a full tune up was done. It is time for another timing belt, tune-up, tires and I need to replace the front wheel bearings. All in all, best car I've ever owned. Paid $2100 for it at 151,000 miles and in 40K miles, I put about $1500 into it. I've owned it for 1 1/2 years now so $83 a month for service isn't to bad... As far as a tranny, have it rebuilt. Save you a lot of money. I got a quote of $1500 for a rebuild on mine which I plan to do with the timing belt at 200K. Good luck.
