Light Issues (Tried Search. No Results!)
Hey guys im having some issues with my headlights with my 97 2.2CL.
The right highbeam went out one day so i got new bulbs and still did not work. Figured it was wiring problem so i left it. Then recently, the regular driving light on the same side is not working, aswell as the highbeam on that side. So i took it in for some service (unrelated to lights) and the dealership said i need a new box that regulates the lights. Something that would cost $250ish dollars from them. I dont know the name of the box, (it was a while back) but it apparently is the control mechanism for the lights. Anyone know the name and if so, is it compatable with any other car (94-97 Accord..) ? Thanks!
If its worth noteing, sometimes the regular run light works, and sometimes it doesent. The small side amber lights always work. but sometimes i can turn them off, and sometimes they are always on. And the one headlight set works perfectly fine all the time.

No, but i dont think it would be hte fuse b/c the side ambers still work on the headlight, and as i said, the main running lights work sometimes. but others they dont. If a fuse was blown then it would never work.
I will check it shortly tho, however the dealership did say i needed a part replaced that regulated the lights and im guessing it would interpret the signals sent from the stearing column and turn on/off the lights accordingly. Im mainly looking for the name of this part and if possible where i could get a replacement.

Were they referring to the integrated control unit that is mounted to the inside fuse box? That really doesn't have anything to do with the headlights. That controls intermittent wipers and turn signals mainly. The switch on the left hand stalk does not control each headlamp individually, so you can rule that part out.
I would suspect a faulty headlight relay or bad ground first. You could also have a fuse problem... as in maybe the fuse base is not seated all the way in or is corroded. I will check my service manual and find out where the ground is located for the right headlight (although I think its behind the right side of the front bumper.)
