It's so hard to say Goodbye!

Hey guys,

My 1998 acura 3.0 cl (my first car) has a cracked radiator and blown head gasket. To my dismay, the dealership quoted $3400 to fix the repairs which is way over blue book value of the car. (I also got quotes from other auto shops with the best one being $2100) This is somewhat painful for me because in the past year I probably spent roughly $2500 on repairs/maintenance thinking I was going to keep the car for the long haul. As a result of the seemingly endless need for repairs, I ended up taking my wife's old car (99 camry) and buying her a 2013 mdx.

My question/problem is what should I do with my cl? Right now I still have it parked at the dealership. I appreciate any and all assistance in this matter.

You can probably DIY the radiator and get a cheap aftermarket one. Also, how do you know it needs a head gasket?

There's no reason why the head gasket replacement should be so much money, without it including remachining the head and block mating surfaces. But who quoted you that without knowing for sure? See where i'm going with this...?

I'd recommend doing the radiator yourself and having a shop do the head-gasket. Try buying the parts online to save a few bucks.
