98 CL 2.3. The owner manual says unscrew all the four screws. However, I'v tried all kinds of pillips screw drivers availabe at home, not working. it seesm the screws are locked.

Try turning harder I've never had a problem loosening those screws before when I had the stock box. Try some WD-40 to break up some corrosion. Do the look stripped out?

 

Thank you for advice. I've tried very hard and damaged one of my phillips screw drivers By locked, I mean the screws are mechanically locked because they can be easily turned a little bit, clockwise and counterclockwise.

Do I need to use a nut driver?

 

Try a socket wrench, probably a little easier for you.

 

use a socket its a 8mm i think or 10mm its way way easier someone before you probably cranked them down to much.
