Question How do I do a valve adjustment

My car is getting noisier so i took to the local garage. a local told me that my valves needed adjustment but I dont know how to do that. I jsut bought this car with 150,000 and I want to make it last another 150,000. If there is any other advice anyone other than how to adjust the valve I could use that too. Thanks for your help.

Adjusting the valves seems like a good thing to do, but I've checked several 2.2L engines over the years and rarely found them signficantly off. If done wrong there is potential for causing problems (too little clearance can cause a burnt valve). Unless you have persistent valve noise w/ a fully warm engine, I would suggest leaving them alone.

If you insist on adjusting them, get a manual. The 94-97 Accord manual can be downloaded from hondahookup.com and will provide the correct procedure.

good luck

Are they noisy all the time or just on start-up? I was told this is an interference engine and so they will always be noisy on startup.
