Question Hid Conversion Problem

Hey everyone....

I purchased a set of 9006 HID Conversion kit on ebay and I dont seem to be getting then to work. I'm a pretty good mechanic, but when it comes to electrical, we can't seem to agree on any resolutions.

From what I gather, most aftermarket kits are pretty standard.

I was wondering if anyone has had any ploblems getting the kit to work on the first generation headlights?
Has anyone had to rewire the kits?
Changed the headlight relay?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it should be pretty straight forward. most of the sets are "plug and play". here is a DIY for the install. the DIY shows you how to install the kit without cutting the original wiring harness.

I saw that thread earlier.

Doesn't help. I'm not into jimmy rigging any of my car's electrical system.

My kit has all the plugs.

I think either, I need to cross some wires or something, bad ballast(s) or unless i have to leave the lights on for 10 minutes to warm up or something.... Which i know didn't do. Just can't see why i would need to warm up lights...they should either work or not.

The CL Positive wire and negative wire is reversed so... what you need to do is to cut the HID Black and red wires and reverse them but some of the Kits its plug in play so no need.. but most of the time you need to cut and reverse make sure that you tape with good quality black tape or else you might have more problem... also when you start to tape them tape in warm temperature in order the tape to bond well each other

^BIGGEST problem

make sure you wire in a relay switch and tap your battery. i dont think the stock harness draws enough power.
i wired mine with two relay switches, one on each ballast, with a in-line fuse.

i figured it is safer to wire two relays, just in case so they both wont fail.

Hey guys... Thanks for all the help.

I finally got them going this morning. Even went to check the load on the battery and everything seems to be fine.

Once I get a chance I'll post some pics.

NOW... Time to shopping for some nice white LEDs and a set of H3s for the OEM fog lights.
