I got a 98 Acura CL 3.0 why is it so difficult to find parts for my car I know it is an old car but all the other old cars you can buy parts for it or at least aftermarket... so what's up with that ....is there any Honda car that's very very close to my 98 CL Acura I can't find a window switches for the passenger side I cannot find the wood trim for the door panels everything is discontinued and I'm very very frustrated does anybody know anything forward to get anything can you get back at me please advise

 

you're looking for an obscure discontinued piece.....any car that doesnt have a BIG following will have a hard time finding obscure interior trim...For example, ONLY because the '95 Impala SS is so popular that the aftermarket scene has produced interior trim. Somebody said; HEY, we can make lots of money by producing this trim. For the CL, aint no way anyone can recoop the production cost to make trim, because you're likely the only one looking for it.


your best bet is to find it from a junk yard.

or find a grandma car that has been sitting forever and ask to swap trim or buy the whole car....
this is nothing different than any other old car.....

back in the day, there used be things called swap meets...where people with classic cars would go to meets to specifically buy or trade old discontinued parts.
This is part of the hustle, part of the game... it SHOULD be frustrating!!! because it's been discontinued.

 

I might still have a spare window switch, I just moved so it might be tough to locate but I will look. eBay you can usually find a good number of spare parts from wrecked CL's or car-part.com is also good.

 

You can find most used parts for a 98 CL on Ebay, that's where I go for most of my "used" parts. Most are in like new condition or slightly worn. It's worth a shot.

 

Thanks guys that sucks I've been having problems finding part to restore and upgrade but no luck... Bummer only had the car 2 years now
