Engine Randomly Cuts Off

List,

My 1998 3.0 CL has been completely reliable over the last three years till yesterday. Driving home from work the engine randomly cut off and died about 20 times. It didn't matter if I was at a stoplight or driving 40mph, the thing would just die. In a few instances, it would restart right away, and other times it would take several tries of crank, fire up and die instantly.

When this happens, the headlights, radio and interior lights work and the engine cranks over freely so I know its not the alternator, battery or starter. I did notice during these spasms that the warning lights on the dashboard were not light up as they should be when the ignition is on and engine is off, and also noted that at one point, all the warning lights were flickering.

Anyone have these same symptoms and what fixed it?

Thanks,

call acura to see if you fall into the ignition recall, that sounds like your problem.
