The ELD is part of the fuse box. You can't replace it without replacing the whole box. There is supposedly a way bypass it, but I've never found enough information to be able to attempt it. I have the same symptoms. If you do a search of the forums there are a few threads discussing the problem.

FYI those three small wires that come out of the lower right side of the fuse box go to the ELD. (If you're looking at it from the front of the car)

Yea kinda figured that when I looked at it! The honda man. Showed wat looked like a relay w/ two conntact coming off the left and right side and said to unscrew and take out but lookin under the hood saw a wire harness.. The 100amp and batt.. Conntacts look a lil dusty gonna spank em up tomm.. I already did all the grounds ( I could visably see) soo we'll see? I might jus cop a new batt.. And see wat happens! Ur car get a lil vibration under electrical load??

Vibration plus I swear it misfires when the turn signal is on, but everyone looks at me like I'm an idiot when I say that.

It smooths out if I give it gas. I want to say it idles at 900 RPM, but I can't remember for sure. I can't check now I'll have to let you know tomorrow afternoon because it's in the shop getting the windshield replaced.

Yea mine idles low at times and that's when I get shakie.. I'm thinkin my rear mount cuz it only does it on occasion ... There's a selinoid that controls the postion of the mount w/ rpm change ... Or might be slight vac leak ! But listened I got a ear for that but heard nuthin I'm spray some startin fluid around the motor tomm.. It soo wierd it only happens somtimes and others it FINE could be fuel pump to thoe under stress it kinda seems like when tank gets below half it fine too?? It's makin me nuttz.. My guy that did the timing belt said ... Coolant temp sensor could cause a idle issue cuz the iacv work along w/ coolant system... Any thoughts??? And wat happened to ur windshield?? Crazy chick w/ a brick??? Lol j/p

Btw .. Mine idles at like 750 -800 I know on the throttle body there's a lil Allen screw under the cable set that acts as a stopper and was thinkin for vibration it shook it down when my mount was broke?? Cuz if I take it up w/ the peddle to 8-9ish it's idle soo nice..and I know normal idle is 9

I bought it with the windshield cracked, but it got worse when I took a trip up north to Ohio. So I've decided to finally spend the money to fix the problem.

Hope this works

Well I found the connection for the ELD on my 98 CL auto, it is in the fuse box under the hood passenger side. I just disconnected it and turned on the car, drove for a mile or 2, the car ran fine. I just charged my battery the day before so I'm not sure it worked. Before I did that I charged the battery when ever the lights started dimming under a load, if I didnt do that it would run fine but it was just irritating. Oh my CEL light is blown so I dont know if its on. Let me know if you think I did the right thing.

Sorry - the dealer (of all places did it). Can't say how, or where it is, but i'm sure unplugging it will work. They said they removed a pin in the connector so it was "clean" Sorry, i know this doesn't help very much.
