Exclamation EGR Code, but not the EGR valve! Help!

My check engine light in my '99 3.0 keeps coming back on. The code reads EGR but i've had my EGR valve or sensor or whatever it is replaced. I had another mechanic tell me it was my downflow O2 sensor, but that hasn't fixed the problem either. I'm tired of wasting money on parts that aren't broken, anyone had this problem before? Suggestions?

Also, the door on the pocket below my CD player broke. The dealer wants $107.91 for the pocket plus labor to pull the radio and replace it. Is there anywhere besides a junk yard I could get this part? Thanks!

Even though you replaced your EGR, did you clear the clogged port? Was it fixed under warranty?

I'm not sure, my mechanic didn't say anything about unclogging a port, and no it wasn't fixed under the warranty. Is unclogging the port routine with replacing that valve? if it is, then he probably did do it. I didn't get the car until December of '05 so there wasn't a warranty left on the car.

have him check the port itself, if that wasn't cleared, then it's still clogging, causing your EGR code to appear. Nothing will cause your EGR code besides the EGR, not a o2 sensor or anything else.

The broken pocket, well, you can try to find one on ebay and have someone you know swap it. More than likely you'll need the whole assembly, not just the door. Post a want to buy thread in the Black Market, you might get some hits.

Good luck

Yeah, sounds like its clogged. its not routine unless he knows this is a problem with our cars. If you want to do it your self check out this thread

it looks hard, but its actually pretty easy if y0ou've worked on cars a little before.
