I have a 97 cl 2.2, its lowered with Skunk 2 coilovers/stock shocks. The car does hop on uneven payment. When the car hops the control arm hits the top of the fender, but it only happens to the driver sides only and not passenger. Both side are are lowered 1 inch gap. Any way i can fix this problem beside raising up the car. It just happens recently because i've been all year long this low and there was no noise and now i can see the scratch under the fender causing by the control arm.

I had the same problem but with a 2.6" drop. I cut the wells from above and it fixed the problem until...I got a camber kit. My car was so low when I corrected the camber the upper control arm wasn't able to fit through the well and my car wouldn't sit all of the way down. Sooo....I grinded my well till it fit. Lowering your car isn't just as easy as putting springs and shocks in, I got some of these ideas from hot rodders. I have since changed my springs to skunk2s coilovers but I am sure I will not have a clearence problem again. There are holes between my wheel wells and my engine bay, but I only have to clean my bay once a month. There might be other solutions out there but I just went with the quickest and it has been working for me.
