Cold transmission doesn't shift properly

i recently bought an Acura 2.3 CL 99 automatic. It has 120,000 miles on it. But i am having some problems with its transmission. When I start the car in the morning, for the first mile or so transmission shifts very awkwardly. RPM goes up to around 3000 and then it shifts with a strong jerk. But after that 1st mile it shifts smoothly. I called the seller of car about this problem and he said that car is doing like that when he changed the transmission oil at about 98,000 miles. AFter that he took it to a transmission specialist and he said that it sometimes happen after transmission oil change and that the transmission is fine. I am very confused. Any help on this one would be really appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Is the fluid at the correct level? To check, get the engine up to normal operating temperature, shut it off, and check within the first few mins on a level ground. I had random harsh shifts when I overfilled.

What type of ATF fluid did he use? It cannot be regular dextron III fluid. It needs to be Honda ATF Z-1. I use Amsoil's universal synthetic ATF for the past two years w/o issues.

Probably early signs that your tranny is about to go.

My 3.0 did that (plus rear main seal developed small leak) so I sold it. Transmissions are expensive to replace, so I got myself an '04 Civic EX instead. The CL was a great car otherwise.

Mine does that. I must have gotten yours lol.

Anyway, may as well just run it until something fails, because it really will not matter cost wise. It may never fail at all. The symptom is more of an electronic problem rather than mechanical failure as far as I can see.
