Cel #1

Last sunday as I was driving home, I came to a stoplight, turned the corner and the transmission wouldnt grab any higher than 1st. Also threw a CEL when I hit the stoplight. Pulled over, turned it off, gave it a minute. Took off again and it wouldnt grab any higher than 2nd. At the next stoplight it wouldnt grab any gears. So today I pulled the code using the paper clip and it came up with 1 I believe. Only flashed one time and it seemed like a short blink to me. Oxygen sensor. That wouldnt have any effect on the transmission, correct? Are they two completely different issues or might they hopefully be tied together??

your o2 sensor would make your driving a little rough and give you bad gas mileage and possible make your car stall, but it won't effect your transmission.

The o2 sensor has nothing to do with your transmission slipping and not grabbing. It just regulates how much oxygen is in the fuel mixture etc.

Friend of mine had a suggestion, to unhook the battery and let the ECU reset. Turned it back on, CEL was gone and it drove fine...

yeah theres usually a 100 miles for the ecu to relearn the settings and your cel will come back.

good news, wait and see if it comes back after 100 miles of recalibration or so
