i'll be driving and my cl will just randomly shut off. its literally like i turn the key off while im driving. When it first started the car would turn off and then right back on. Now it turns off and i have to pull over. When i pull over i can start it right back up. No CEL codes so i think it may be ignition related. It does do it within the first 5 minuted im on the road too. Suggestions?

 

sounds like a bad ground to me but it could be so many things but a lose ground would be what I looked for first. I am talking about the engine ground that grounds the engine to the frame

 

See if your car was part of the ignition switch recall

 

oh! I never knew there was a switch recall. Is this what happened and the reason they had the recall?

 

yeah that's exactly what the recall is, mine did that a few times too

 

Yes, sometimes the car randomly shuts off, it also can result in the key being removed while the car is still running
