My 97 acura cl w/110K miles was involved in an accident where someone ran into the passenger side door so much so that the door would not open and it was pushed half way across the parking spot.
When I turned the car on the check engine light came on and the dashboard indicator showing what gear the car was in ,when driving, was blinking as well as the car was not responding as well as did before when accelerating.

The garage says that it is related to the transmission solenoid but since there where no scratches,dents or cracks to the transmission that they would not pay.

I don't think this is a coincidence. I am curious how this could have happened and I was hoping someone could me a plausible theory as to what happened.

 

Was the wheel or axle pushed at all?

 

It wasn't damaged but the accident did cause the steering to lock b/c the wheels where at a 45 degree angle relative to the rest of car.

 

It honestly could have been from the impact on the side of the car, and it probably was from the accident where you got hit and your wheel alignment out! it shook your entire engine bay, and now you got another problem to deal with! Good luck with your insurance company, maybe you can get something out of them!
(it happened to me, so i got lucky the insurance company paid for half i paid the other half)
