CAI annoying hum
I have recently purchased a cold air intake from ebay and stuck a K&N filter on it. I recently noticed that at idle the car has a loud 'hummm' to it that comes from the intake. I am fairly certain this is cause by the bends in the piping, looking at the AEM ones they do not bend as much, my guess is because with bigger bends you get more hum. Anyone experience this? Anyone else have this hum? It sounds fine at higher RPM but just at idle (about 900 - 1200) it hums. I've seen a tread about how to fix this but I can't seem to find it, any advice to fix this?

Heheh good point man, and I would accept but I did have this same intake on my F22 1994 accord EX-R, almost the same exact engine and it never had the hum. Might be the bigger throttle body. I remember someone on this forum had this same issue and fixed it, I just can not find that dam post.

Well just to let everyone know I fixed this issue. Turns out it was actually the piping. What I did was I made my CIA into a SRI. My piping came in two pieces, I just took the one that went from the engine compartment to the bumper out and it stopped the annoying hum. Hope this helps someone one day

Hmm interesting, I thought it was the bends. Well I going to try to shorten the actual down pipe to as short as I can get it, maybe ill be able to get bumper air after all. Thanks for the info man.

It all depends on the intake and the pipe you have. the humming is caused by the resonating of the intake as air shoots through it. i fixed mine by cutting the elbow off the short ram intake to make it a straight pipe.
