no straight answers after 2 hours of searching.., so here it is.

my cat failed and looking at a bosal high flow. will this throw codes or not? i don't live in cal, so not worried about being checked. but deff don't want a check engine light.......thanks peeps

 

id say theres a 95% chance it'll throw a code. I got a aftermarket bosal (non-hiflow) cat replacement and the code P0420 was back with 4-5 drive cycles. ended up having to go with the defouler trick that has been discussed on here many many times. honestly on this car any non-oem cat will throw a code imo

 

yea you should search "defouler"
its an extension of the threads in a way; makes the O2 sensor come away from the exhaust further so it won't trip the ECU.

 

thanks....i'v ran defoulers before.....just suck cause i want to pretty much stay all oem like...

 

well got it on today and no check engine light but only drove about 5 miles today too

 

Probably won't trip a code until the catalyst motors are actually heated and ready.

 

got 6 miles and the light came on..haha...slaping in the non fouler today
