Question Blown Head Gasket

Hey guys whats going...I haven't been here in a long time but just needed some help with a problem..Well I have a blown head gasket on my 98' Acura CL...It went to the machine shop today and they said it wasn't cracked or anything I guess and that they were going to shave it down...They are also going to replace the waterpump, timing belt and thermostat.....Will shaving down the heads be good or should they be replaced totally...I just don't want to have this happen again...

If the heads are really worn, or if you feel uncomfortable about just shaving them, have them replaced now while it's easy to do.

Well I am clueless about this stuff..LoL..The mechanic told me if they could save them then they would..He said they weren't bad or cracked or anything so I guess he got them machined and shaved...I hope everything goes good...I am getting it back tomorrow hopefully..

Shaving and finishing the head takes off a few thousands of inch to create a perfectly, flat and smooth sealing surface for new head gasket to seal. I would have valves re-seated also. If head is checked for cracks, it should be as good as new.

good luck
