battery light...
so i did some searching on the previous posts and couldnt find anything real helpful..
today on my way to work my battery light came on. theres been no dimming or loss of power. i just had all my belts replaced 2 weeks ago and they seem to be on properly. any suggestions?

That light means that your alternator is not putting out the proper voltage. Alternator failure is common in CLs. If you have a voltage tester you can verify this. Start the car and test the voltage coming from the battery terminals. You should be getting 12 or more volts.

Walmart has a nice, battery monitor that plugs into the cigarette lighter. It's about $15 and will quickly tell you if alt is charging. It should be charging ~14V w/ low load and stay above 12.2 volts w/ everything on, engine at 2000 rpm. If not, the alternator brushes, rectifier, and regulator should be replaced, or a good quality rebuilt alternator installed.
