Question bad immobilizer?

This mourning I went to start my car and the key would not move from the "0" position. The steering wheel wasn't locked and I drive a 5 speed so there was no issue w it being in park. It was exceptionally cold last night however its been this cold before with no reported issues. After about ten mins of jiggling the wheel and attempting to turn the key I finally got it to move and it started right up. It made me late for work and I'd like to figure out what's happening. Anyone else had this problem? Also my key is in good shape. It fits tight is not loose at all. I have started it just fine three times since the problem this mourning.
