I bought a 99CL w/106k on it, knowing it needed a transmission. Replaced with a JDM transmission, everything was fine except for the JDM transmission had the Range Switch on the bottom drivers side of the transmission (where they are on most Hondas) but the trans I pulled (which i'm assuming was OEM) did not have the switch on the side, there is nothing. I have the code coming up for the range switch, and the car shifts rough. Did different transmissions have the range switch in different locations? I don't even have the wiring harness to go down to the left side where the range switch would be. What can i do here?

 

Had a honda tech look at it - computer shows 'P-N' when the car is park or neutral and shows 'GEAR' when in reverse or any D gear. So the car is sending a signal of some sort at least. Should it show gear or should it show 'D'? Since the OEM trans did not have a range switch on the side is it built into the shifter assembly? help!
