I've noticed recently that when I'm turning at any speed, the steering seems to go from tight to kinda loose then tight again. Other than than that it's pretty good and straight and does not drift left or right. But it kinda freak me out this morning at high speed merging into the highway, thought I could make a 45mph turn at 60. Instead of bein able to hold the steering wheel steady thru the turn it did that thing and almost over corrected. I'm wondering if it's fluctuating pressur at the rack.

 

sounds like something to do with the power steering but I am not sure what. It has to be either power steering pump or something with the rack

 

My wifes accord is experiencing this but at low speed. The power steering goes in and out intermittently. Think it's the pump! I would get a used one and replace that before you mess with the rack. If you can, get it diagnosed first though so you don't burn $.
