1997 abs light
#2
Did you check the codes? Blue connector under the glove box, bend a paper clip into a "U" shape slide it in to the connector then turn the key on and look at your abs light it will flash pause flash, count the flashes it will give you a idea what is wrong. I just did this to mine and found a bad right rear sensor.

I am new here myself, But I would look around the ABS unit to see where it may plug in. Without seeing it,it is hard to know what you are looking at.

I did the paper clip trick on my old 1997,the code told me right rear sensor error.
I replaced the sensor and the code was gone.
Found this on a honda forum
You do it the exact same way you would for jumping the ECU codes. The SCS connector is a blue two pin connector under the glove box. Short that and count the flashes from the ABS light, not the CEL.
Here is a list of ABS codes,
1 The hydraulic pump motor is over-run
1-2 The hydraulic pump motor
1-3 Is a high pressure leak
1-4 The pressure switch
1-8 Accumulator of high pressure system
2-1 Circuit of handbrake warning lamp switch
3-1 Rotor teeth damaged on right hand front wheel speed sensor
3-2 Rotor teeth damaged on left hand front wheel speed sensor
3-4 Rotor teeth damaged on right hand rear wheel speed sensor
3-8 Rotor teeth damaged on left hand rear wheel speed sensor
3-12 Combination of different sizes of tires
4-1 Circuit of right hand front wheel speed sensor
4-2 Circuit of left hand front wheel speed sensor
4-4 Circuit of right hand rear wheel speed sensor
4-8 Circuit of left hand rear wheel speed sensor
5-4 Right hand rear wheel lock
5-8 Left hand rear wheel lock
6-1 Front fail safe relay
6-4 Rear fail safe relay
7-1 Right hand front, hydraulic modulator solenoid valve
7-2 Left hand front, hydraulic modulator solenoid valve
7-4 Rear, hydraulic modulator solenoid valve
8-1 Operation of the ABS
8-2 The ECU
8-4 Internal circuit of the ECU
Hope this helps
