I am the origional owner of a 1997 2.2CL and have all the maintenance records of the car. The car has an excellent interior/exterior.

The one big problem it is having now is related to the transmission. I live in the DC area and now that it is cold the car has issues getting out of first gear in the mornings. It will shift but it is way past the true shift point.

Acura wants $4k for a new trans.
Aamco will put in a refurbished for $1500.

The car alone isn't worth but maybe $2k. While Acura was also looking at my trans issue they discovered several other issues.

I am going to probably end up selling this car and want to get the most for my money. Would it be better to trade it in at a Carmax or do you have any other places I could list it? Also, I have searched all over on trans recalls for this year car but I dont think any applied to it. Thoughts and comments appreciated. I would attach a picture of the quote from Acura but I cant figure out how.

Thoughts? Advice?
