it was somewhat excellent... i thought the lip looked so good on my car that after it smashed into pieces, i wasn't really upset. i felt lost while i held the 3 pieces of the lip in my hands. i was like oh great, there went 200$ and it was nice while it lasted.. i just tossed the remaining parts of the lip in the bushes and drove home.

They're actually Rota D2's bka Meister S1 3pc replica's. I need to get a cheap set of wheels to run daily and I just saw my local forum advertising Rota's expanded wheel line up.

Here's what I'm interested in:

Rota D2 - 17x8.5 +25

or

Rota P45 - 18x9.5 +30

yeah 9.5" wide is pretty aggressive for a fwd car. you'd most likely need to do fender modifications to fit the 18x9.5" wheels if you slam the car - because theres no point rollin stock height on 9.5" wide wheels.

the d2's do look nice for what they are. they look cleaner than other knock off's and i think they'll look good on the cl.

heres some pics of my friends car with 17" d2's eric. Not sure what the width and offset are, but I can ask later. Just to give you an idea. The wheels are nice, but they look kinda small since the lip is so fat.

I have a good feeling about these wheels. I'd prolly have the center caps painted black or something. They really look good in the pics, Justin. Thanks for sharing them. I think regardless the width and offset, the wheels are still going to have the same amount of lip. What's cool is that it's a step lip design which gives the wheels a "deeper" and aggressive look. Imagine being slammed on these in 17x8.5 +25 with a lot of negative camber and stretched tires.

It'd look something like this:

Fuck, I'm so gettin these wheels. Prolly get um for my bday :p

On Rota's site, the only avail wheel sizes are: 18x9.5 +30 5x114.3 and 5x100.

The D2's comes in various sizes and offsets:

17 x 7.5 +20/+25/+30/+35/+40/+48 4h/5h x 100/114.3
17 x 8.5 +20/+25/+30/+35/+40/+48 4h/5h x 100/114.3
18 x 8.0 +35/+48 4h/5h x 100/114.3
18 x 8.0 +35/+48 5h x 112/120
18 x 7.5 +45/+48 5h x 100/114.3
18 x 8.0 +45/+48 5h x 100/114.3

Yeah I miss my old rims, I loved how they looked on my car. I think the D2's are gunna look sick. (Trying to hype myself so I can get these)

I wanna get the VIP style angled dual muffler tips to run on my CL. Hey, I agree with you. These wheels look good. Go get um, if you like um! It doesn't matter to me who had what first or who bit my wheel choice. What matters is you make your car however you want.

How low is your car? I'm sure you'll rub if you're lowered like 3" with 0 camber on 18x8 +35.

17x8.5 +25 is a pretty aggressive fitment for our cars. I plan on running that, and the only way I could make it fit good is by cambering out (negative camber) my car to the max (naturally) by slamming it, and by stretching the tires so it'll have a smaller diameter and width. Idealy, I would run something like like 205/35 or 40/17.

The only way to decrease the chances of rubbing in those sizes and under those conditions you mentioned is 1) if there is fender gap or at the most the tire sits flush with the bottom of the fender or 2) you slam your car creating negative camber for clearance and running a smaller diameter and width tire and rolling the fenders.
