trying to troubleshoot why my brakelight lamp came on. all of my lights are ok.... hmmm the only thing i can think of is that i know i need brake fluid but that shouldn't had cause that. i should i know i drove without brakes one time.

 

Low brake fluid will cause that Jon, has happened to me numerous times, especially when the vehicle is cold and the level isn't reading properly just yet because of the frigid weather. Mine would stay on for at least 20 mins till I either had a few braking cycles or topped it off if the light wouldn't go off.

 

ok. damn i thought i was in the CL thread. lol i fail. anyways. i know that my brake peddle is kinda soft now, so ill add some. its weird since i see no leaks.

 

you sure? brake fluid evaporates kinda quickly, unless of course its accumulating on your carpeting when you have a CMC leak (same fluid).

and yes that will make your brake lights not work.

i just got my fenders rolled so they should be on soon i have the tires on and i need to order my camber kit

That's a good deal. A local shop wanted $200 just for the rear.

 

when I was 16 and worked for a muffler/brake shop we put a cup with brake fluid uncovered in the shop to see if it would evaporate and after 6 months none of it ever evaporated at all so not sure if they have changed the brake fluid composition since then but I believe this is false information
