1997 Acura 3.0 CL vs 2005 Toyotal Corolla XRS at 140 Km's
Got hit by a Drunk Driver Head on going the wrong way on a On RAMP. He drove 4.3 KM's the wrong way on the 401 (a 10 Lane Highway).
This was was in Mint Condition till this happened.
Just thought i would share my pain with everyone else.
Nontheless i got myself a 98 3.0 CL to work on now.

Only the driver of the other car got hurt, i was bruised and scraped same with the gf.
It happened January 10th 2005.
I was on the Westbound on-ramp at Whites road, which is a 90degree uphill onramp(PLUS TREES) so i couldn't see anything coming up the on ramp but it didn't matter because he was driving so fast, at 140km's you do about 250feet a second. As soon as i got over the onramp hump i got smoked.
Only reason why it never got any new coverage was because when the taxi driver behided me who called it in said there was a fight on the onramp because i was pounding the shit out of the guy.
So any news van driving around who intercepted the dispatcher's radio call wouldn't show up to a fight..

Geez, that made me have a sick feeling in my stomach. My 3.0 Black CL looks identical. Glad to hear you weren't hurt bad. That's great that you beat the shit outta the guy. What are the police going to do to the guy? I can't believe he was speeding that fast against oncoming traffic. I'da kicked the dude's ass too!

Well enough to sink it into his head that drunk driving is bad.
But not well enough because the cabbie pulled me off the little jap before i could finish.
"Warning" to anyone driving a 1st gen CL drive with the stearing coloum at its lowest point and
wear a seatbelt cover.
The Airbag blew out so hard it compressed my chest (iam built not skinny) bruised my whole chest,
so if that stearing coloum is pointed towards your face its gonna hurt.
Next when the compressed gas and air mix to blow up the airbags, it fills the car with what looks
like smoke very heavy smoke.( Thought the car was on fire.)
I got a Hair line Fracture of my collarbone from the seatbelt. So a cover would of worked for me.
Mind you this was a head on at a high speed. Just some suggestions.

Good tips, I've been debating on whether to get a seat belt cover, for that exact reason. Hope you didn't get burned by the airbag dust, it sux bad. I got all torn up from my airbag in my first car wreck. Just glad you're ok man. That really sux that the guy was drunk, i'da kicked this shit outta him too.

where in the fuck were the police. youd think somebody woulda called in a guy goin the wrong way on a highway. they are always there to pick you up when your speeding 6 MPH over the speed limit or can look in your car at 55 MPH and spot you not wearing your seatbelt but cant spot a guy goin north in the southbound lane.(or vice versa) bastards, i hate them all. sorry to see something happen to another CL. the most important thing is youre ok tho. id like to see pics of your new Lotus you buy with all that insurance and lawsuit money.
