Seafoam is the best thing EVERY for high mileage vehicles.

I would NEVER run it in my crankcase(oil) since I don't want to eat any natural seals the engine has made for itself. Just put 1/3 into your gas tank for injectors, and the rest you can suck in through your TB.

It's pretty hard to screw it up too, if you pour it in then yeah, it can lock your engine up. But it's petroleum which is fine for our engines for a small amount of time. You just take a piece of hose into the cannister and let it suck in the fluid itself. IF the engine does shut off, stop letting anymore fluid go into it and just let it sit for a few minutes and then start her back up.

This stuff does wonders for your idle, gas mileage and cleans out your throttle body and intakes.

Oh and if you think I just got lucky, I've done this seafoam product to about 7 cars now. All had either no effect or a positive one. Never anything bad ever.

The only downside and reason the guy said it can fuck up your engine is exactly what cyphon said, it can take out any carbon deposits or whatever might be in your engine that's packed in there sealing up any cracks or chips. I have a can of seafoam I've had sitting here forever I've just never got around to using it because I'm scared I'll blow up my car for some reason lol.

That "kid" you are talking about is GhettoNinja06 and he is a member here, I have used seafoam before and never caused any problems and it does definitely clean the engine

It's not harmful if used correctly, it can cause leaks if the seals are bad, but it can really benefit the engine

thanx, i didnt know anything about this product, it isnt marketed here and nobody knows of it, i did find some at napa, $9. i will try some in my gas first and mmmmmmmaby try the crank case, it just tripps me out to dump anything but the highest quallity oil. my car is a 97 3l, but only has 190,000km. i just got the t-belt done. fabbed air box with k&n, and tuned the biatch, got a hood for cheep, got the coolant run bi-passing the t-b, got a hi-flo muffler. in the process of ordering aluminum rad and headers.

If you put it in your crank case, DO NOT drive the car after. Let it IDLE only for 5 or 10 minutes tops. It will thin the shit out of your oil, so you only want to do that when you are about to change your oil.

The best way to use it, is to take the line off the throttle body to the PCV on the top out and let it suck in through there while the car is idling. Then let it suck it in and once it finishes the can off, quickly go shut off the car for about 5 mins. Then restart the car (it will stutter and want to die but it will be fine) and watch the smoke blow like crazy out the back. Let it idle for a min or two and then start revving it up a bit slowly. Then after about 5 mins of that take her for a nice rip and have "fun" with the drive. The smoke will start to go away after a while.

Im thinking of doing a DIY video for this car since our cars are probably all above 150K now and could use the treatment if done right.

You can safely add it to your intakes and gas tank without having to do any changes after. Only your crankcase is needed if you are doing an oil change right away after.

The PCV line is the best way to feed it, though it's usually recommended to break it into 3 parts, gas, crank case, and vacuum line, however like cyphon said, only do the crank case when you are changing the oil
