tip for AC compressor

So i duno if anyone knows this but if your ac goes out and you go to advanced auto parts store and buy one it can cost you 300+ bucks! and i belive that is without the clutch or pully.
Mine went out and i did some looking around and found out that the pump on the f23 f22 cl 2.3 cl 2.2 is a universal pump and is used on hundreds of autos.
I got one from ebay that was for a john deer tractor for he low low price of 69$ +20 shipping brand new in the box took the puly and clutch apart and fit the new clutch plate into my old puly filled it with oil and gas and blows ice cold now.
If anyone has a bad pump the model number is HFC134a for the compressor just do some hunting and talk the seller down , dont go paying those outrageous prices for parts from big chain stores. they jack up prices just because its for honda/acura.
the pump also fits a 86 range rover and advanced wanted 80$ less for that one even tho it was exactly the same as mine.

forgive my grammer and run-on sentences

yeah, the pump i got ( model number HFC134a) is a universal pump used on many applications from ford to range rover and even john deer tractors its the clutch and pully that is the auto make specific.
But usually if your ac clutch burns out and it squeals then your pump is bad also now

ebay is the way to go for that pump, if you find a seller see if he can sell you just a pump and clutch and not your pully seance you already have one.
Just remember to fill it with the oil if it is not already lubricated and ask you local auto parts store exactly how much to put inside.
the job took me all of 30 mins to replace and charge with freon ( however you spell it)

Good to know. I need to get my compressor fixed and put back in before it starts getting too hot here.

Hey guys,
my AC compressor just started to make a loud shitty noise and I wonder if I have to replace the whole thing. I have found a used one on ebay for 50$ plus shipping to Canada but im also wondering if I can replace it my self. I have a Honda Accord Repair Manual and it says that I have to flush the system of refrigerant. Is it possible to replace it without flushing it cuz the compressor is used.

Any help is appreciated.

I'm not sure about the whole system flush thing, but the compressor was extremely easy to take off so it should be easy to put back on.

So you think I can replace the whole AC compressor myself without removing/draining the Refrigerant?
