i did a scan of the serches and didnt find anything, probably didnt see it cause im an idiot but

i just got some RSX seats (see other thread) and these babies have side air bags in them, they have a seperate hookup than the SRS. the SRS plug is there but the side air bag has a yellow cable and i wont be able to hook them up, i want them out.
does anyone know how to do so, its probably obviouse but again i looked but im an idiot so rather than gouge them out i want to see if its possible to remove the air bag , (sell them, hehe) and put the cover back on.

There are zippers on the seat that you can remove the whole back cover with. I'm pretty sure the zipper part that you pull is kind of tucked underneath the back corners of the seat, and they unzip right up the back edges. You pull those up and you can get to the airbags on the side, you'll have to fish the wire up from the bottom of the seat to pull it out though. It was a couple years ago when I did it so I don't exactly remember what else is involved but that should get you started.

The only problem is once you remove the airbags you have a big hole in the sides of the seats lol, but I did this and sold them for almost as much as I bought the seats for.

ok, so the seats are in, a heads up for anybody taking the air bags out, it is very easy to cut and remove the air bag covers and glue them back in, cant sell the bags but im going to explode them for shitz and gigglz.

Picking up a set of 04 rsx seats tomorrow for $150 in nice shape. Passenger side airbag exploded so that cover shouldn't be a problem but are you sure it's safe to be cutting that cover off lol? I'm nervous just thinking about it.

You can also remove the complete airbag assembly including cover, and take the seats to an upholstery shop. Having them make a new side panel with no hole, and fill in the crater left in the seat would likely be less than 150 for both seats.
