Sorry if this is a total noob question, I've been searching but couldn't find an existing thread on the subject.

I wanted to throw the shift gate of a 98/99 CL on my '97, found one at a junk yard. Soo I'm just wondering how to remove it, if anyone's done it or knows how to? Thanks.

 

maybe im the noob here...but what the hell is a shift gate?

 

usually it's the metal part that goes around the shift pattern on a manual but CL's don't have shift gates so I'm not sure
