Headlight Polish - Remove the yellow blur

What you need :
- 2000 Sandpaper
- 1500 Sandpaper
- 1000 Sandpaper
- 800 Sandpaper
- Blue Magic Liquid Metal Polish

- Polisher (a 20$ one can easily do the job)

STEP 1
- Remove your headlight from the car (easier)

STEP 2

- Prepare water on a bowl
- Get yourself confortable!
- Wet your 800 sandpaper and your headlight (you need to always have water on your sandpaper and your headlight)
- Start to sand up to down or left to right, not both. Always go on the same side.
- Your headlight will become more blur, do not worry, its normal.

STEP 3

- Wash your headlight
- Wet your 1000 sandpaper and your headlight (you need to always have water on your sandpaper and your headlight)
- Sand the same way you did on the previous step.
- The headlight will still be ugly, all blurish, its normal!

STEP 4

- Wash your headlight
- Wet your 1500 sandpaper and your headlight (you need to always have water on your sandpaper and your headlight)
- Sand the same way you did on the previous step.
- The headlight will still be ugly, all blurish, but its still normal!

STEP 5
- Wash your headlight again
- Wet your 2000 sandpaper and your headlight (you need to always have water on your sandpaper and your headlight)
- Sand the same way you did on the previous step.
- The headlight will still be ugly, all blur, its normal! Do not give up!!! ^_^

STEP 6

- Take your polisher and the Liquid Metal Polish
- Go outside, it become gross really fast doing this inside lol
- Put some Liquid Metal Polish on the headlight, start your polisher and guess what.... polish!!!

STEP 7

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time needed : approx 1 hours per headlight!

Buff them with some plexi glass cleaner periodically and they'll stay looking nice longer.

I did the $20 kit from Oreilly's. It works great, but deffinately need to find a way to keep it coated. I am thinking of trying a thin layer of clear window vynal. Maybe after getting new headlamp assy's and installing profector lamps with HID's.

You can buy UV spray. When you sand the plastic, you are removing the haze, but you are also removing the factory UV protection. . . Which is fine, but you should spray on some more UV protector to keep it from hazing again.

word

nice writeup, but after doing this you need to put some kind of uv protectant layer, as you've already removed all the original uv protectant. Thus the lenses will become yellow and dull again in no time, especially during the summer months
