Can someone please tell me if the 1st to 2nd gear shift on my 97 3.0CL is normal. Heres what Im experiencing.......If Im really easy on the line, it shifts pretty smooth but if I give it a little more than normal, it takes a while for it to shift and its a pretty harsh leap to second. This is my first Acura so Im kinda clueless about the shifting points on this car. I would appreciate any help. Thanks

 

it tends to do this alot more when the car is cold correct?countdown to . the infamous 3.0 tranny.:shakehead.i'm experiencing the same and it only gets worse.if it makes you feel better mines been doing this for over 8000 miles now(almost a year)...

no prob, actually you might get lucky and it be a linear syl. get it checked asap cuz if it's that you could save alot of $$$.if its not ride til she dies....

either way the labor is whats gonna kill u.are you mech inclined?there was a member on here(wilp99) who rebuilt himself in 2 days,spent a couple hundred on parts instead of thousand.i'm personally too scared to try.
