Yet Another... Speaker thread

I went & searched all the threads, I didn't see any suggestion threads.

Being the lil ricer I am.

I blew out my LH front & LH rear speakers. har har Now all I hear is my trunk rattling with hardly any music. haha

I'm looking to buy new ones. Anyone have any suggestions in brands??

Pros & cons?

price ranges?

I know the fronts are 6.5 - what are the back sizes? hah it's been a while since I've touched em.

I'm too busy to go anywhere so I'll be getting this stuff off ebay.

I had/have infiniti Kappas in front, components in the back.

TIA.

on both those!

MB Quartz are very good as well. A little pricey though.

The Alpines are good.

Ive been thinking about these for a starter set http://cgi.ebay.com/ARC-AUDIO-KAR-26...QQcmdZViewItem other than that I want to get a zapco 750.2, and some cdt es series or something along that line. Those ones I listed though would be good off of just deck power seeing as how they are only 50 watts rms.

arc audio is made by image dynamics i think and image dyn. is really good, high sq... and you dont want to run anything off of just deck power, it wont sound good, its better to put an amp with higher rms rating than speakers can handle...that way you keep the gains on the amp low and have the best quality you can get, because you not stressing the amp to its limits and not starving the amp from power

They aren't made by Image dynamics, but ID has helped them make some of their speakers. These speakers would be fine off a head units amp. I'm just puting an easy solution for decent sound. But you are right about the Amps power probably being better off higher than the speakers rms, and then just keeping the gains low. I'm thinking about running the ID chameleon components as well, but I just don't know at this point. I had a pair of IDMAX 12s running off a us amps 2000 and man that sounded sweet.

hey if you want to be fancy, and built component system from scratch look into vifa xt tweeters, and adire audio EXTREMIS midwoofers and a two way crossover crossed at like 3.5k. extremis is definitely one of the best midwoofers out there. i had them in my car and the things that little thing can do is unreall, not comparable to any of the shelf mid, maybe and only maybe to some hight priced dynaudio or focals, vocals, and guitar and piano is just super clear and detailed. and extremis have 13 mm xmax so put them in a small .5 cube box tuned to 45 and you will suprize your self.
