Yellowing Headlights
How do I fix my headlights?! They're starting to turn yellow and dull. Do I have to just buy some new headlights or can they be fixed to almost look brand new. I plan on getting some real HID's and I want them to light up the road as much as possible. Thanks in advance.

you need to get it from the inside it sounds like you are getting moisture in from somewhere on the light housing where teh glue has came undone. you can try searching on here for how to take apart your housing i know you stick them i the oven for about 3-5 minutes on a baking sheet at about 300 degrees then you can take them apart and seperate them adn clean them entirely so you dont have to use that plastic poslisher

Yeah yellowing is usually on the inside of the lens, otherwise you could wipe it off. I dont have the problem, but i remember seeing something along the lines of what 97acurca3.0cl said to fix it. Take them apart, clean them out from the inside, and see if it makes a difference. If not, time for some new headlights, its worth a try.

Hey man, I got your solution. My car was the same way, my passenger side was amber and my driver was crystal clear (had to buy new due to small accident). The unevenness of the headlights was driving me crazy and I even thought about buying a new one from the dealer, $200.00 each. Anyways I figured I might as well try something radical before I shelled out some money. So I bought some 3M 2000 grit sand paper and sanded until my arm was numb. I worked it from left to right making sure that I kept the strokes parallel to the bumper. While sanding the lens use a bucket of diluted car wash liquid (for lubrication). The sandpaper will take out the junk that is stuck on the surface, if you pass your hand over it you will feel bumps (that is were water left some dirt deposits). Sand until you can no longer feel any bumps, to do this wet your hand and the headlight with the car wash solution and check to see were the sanding is needed. While doing this I found out that they looked great while wet, but when they dried they looked a bit scratched. To fix this I used tooth paste, Yes!! Toothpaste. The reason is because it contains micro polishers that clean your teeth, if you get toothpaste and feel it with your fingers you can feel them in it. So you put the toothpaste in the headlight and let it dry, then buff with a cloth. You can add a little bit of the car wash solution to get lubrication. I did it for about 30 minutes, repeating after the toothpaste got too wet, the dryer the better. If you do this you will get rid of the amber and the small scratches from the 2000 grit sandpaper. Let me know how it works out for you, it did wonders for me.

Sand paper?
That may sound okay for the outside but the yellow usually occurs in the inside of the headlight.
I remember reading a magazine where they sold a liquid solution to celan them they guranteed it. Thing is i do not know how or where.
I got the same problem with the ugly headlights. Makes me feel uncomplete

That's odd, because here in the windy city the weather is crappy and mine are clear. Could it be the type of bulb with a high heat output? Could it be something used to clean the lens such as bug and tar remover?

first off, this is not due to moisture INSIDE of the lights. its a buildup of crap on the OUTSIDE of the lens....you see it on alot of Chrystler & Ford vehicles.
I had a guy come over and do the sanding thing about 2 months ago, and it worked pretty well......honestly a hell of alot better looking, but I wanted it crystal clear and you can see small scratches still as nandowong said.
I'm going to try the toothpaste thing on Sunday and tell you guys how it worked out.
