Yeah installed factory fog lights!

Yeah, just finished installing the factory fog lights, what a breeze! I was worried about cutting the grill, but it came out pretty damn good. Though the edges where I cut were rough. But when the fog lights are in, you can't see the rough edges! Can't wait till its dark, gotta see how much they help out.

Congrats!

I took a fine file to the edges of the cut plastic, and it looks great!

Enjoy!

BTW: I put in PIAA Extreme White H3 bulbs in my OEM flog lights, and they really helped with illumination (expecially since I have HIDs).

Thanks guys! Just went out to check out the fogs. They definately help with close up and to the sides. As soon as I can actually win one of those auctions for an Catz HID set on ebay, I'll be putting those in. I plan on putting in some Ion Yellow PIAA's in the fogs after that. Hopefully it'll kinda look like the light setup on the Lexus's where they have hid's with bright yellow fogs.

What kind of skills or experience should one have before trying to install factory fog lights?

Do you need specialize electrician equip. like voltage testers and wire splicers, etc?

How did you mount the on/off switch? Does it mount on the "extra-space" on the dash is if it were factory installed...like the hazard light button?

I bought a small hack saw from walmart for 3 bucks, and I used one 10mm wrench. As far as what kinda skills do you need to install the factory fogs, I would say there are only two skills needed to do the install. 1. Be able to read and understand the instructions. 2. Be able to use a hack saw on the bumper grill on your car. I don't know why it didn't just come with that part gone, it'd make installing the fogs even easier. The factory switch came with the fogs, and it installs in the empty space opposite of the heat warmer seats. It looks factory(duh!?!), and quite slick.

I think it's pretty easy to install. I just wanted the factory in-dash switch, so I got the kit and put on aftermarket lights. Other then taking the console off with a screwdriver and screwing the aftermarket fogs to the bumper, there were no other tools.
