My 1st choice would be rockford but if you care about your system sounding more musically the xtant is the way to go. Very clean sounding and lots of power. Also they draw less power then rockfords. Which is good.

xtant / JL Audio / MMATTS / <- those are tops

Premier / Rockford / Pheonix Audio <- all good as well

try to stray from kicker, mtx,

you know, stuff that's sold at chain stores. then again some

chains specialize in good stuff only

but u know you get what u pay 4, go with XTANT

It really all depends what you want. If you want to have a really loud system id go with a rockford amp. The downside is they will draw more power then the xtant which mite require a cap. The rockford is a little cheaper then the xtant http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting but will be louder IMO. Ive herd a system with an xtant setup and rockford setup with jl's and the subs with the rockford amp was louder but the xtant was cleaner. All depends what your looking for. Just thought id give you another idea before you make your decision.

Well if you read the user manual you should know that the subs can be run in series or parallel. The subs would work in series with that amp which is actually a safer way to run subs with an amp. Using a lower impedance will put more stress on the amps internals and more strain on the electrical system. Running an amp in that state will certainly shorten the life of the amp and cause heat issues.

Sound stream amps are nice amps but hardly last. I think i been through 10 already and that was running 4ohm non bridged. Sure they sound great but why buy a used amp?? Who knows what its been through and how much life is still has left.

If you want to get crazy get a 801s http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...category=39737

If your running more then one amp you would have to get a cap. If you buy a rockford get it off ebay there way cheaper.

Class d's are fine but will never match the power the rockford has.

sorry man but rockford is cheap mass produced garbage. It used to be decent stuff about a decade ago. And here is a clue, they sell it at best buy, that should be enough basis right there. Unfortunately not a lot of people make good shit anymore. I wouldnt buy any soundstream stuff except the reference series stuff which all of it is about 10 years old at least. I bought my amps used and they perform like no other. definately money well spent. btw cheap amps (rockford) probly will die prematurely under heavy loads. They are designed cheaply and have weak power supplies in them. I had my ss bridged down to 1/2 ohm for just over two years before i changed my setup and never had one problem at all.

Dude thats totally ok. The more power the better. Just learn to use it wisely. My sub amp has waayyyyyy more power than Ill ever use. But it has great dynamics when i need it.
