Hey, I'm looking for the best place to find a First Gen CL... I've been bitten. I need something else that I can dump my money into now.

Thx,
Joe

welcome to the forum...where are you located?what year? 2.x or 3.0? it's really hard to say where is the best place to get a cl,i found mine on the way home from work at a local dealer sittin in the middle of the lot lookin so sexy.....remember, its a used car,no matter what(the least it can be is 7 years old).so luck has a big part, just do your homework like carfax it,ask for service records etc...good choice on wanting a 1st gen,and dumping $$ into it. won't be hard at all if you stay on the board.....i just spent almost $100 on damn led bulbs thanks to my pal supra....good luck

Bitten

Thanks,

I found a 97 2.2 the other day. I drove over an hour to check it out, after the dude said it was in great shape and didn't have any real known issues. I ran a carfax on it which came back clean. I got there and found that the whole drivers side door was plastic, the rear of the car had been scrapped down both sides and the clutch was about shot. I talked the guy down to 3900, but after thinking about it for awhile, figured I'd be better off with something that I didn't need any body work. The search continues. I live north of Nashville. I've found a couple, but the price is either or the car is way too new. I am wanting to stay in the Gen 1 era. I will check autotrader tho... thx

remember, gen 1 stretches to 99... a 2.3 5 speed 99 is still pretty dope..

good luck, and keep an eye out for all that stuff you mentioned... you dont want to get stuck with something thats all beat up..

I found mine in the paper. Along with about 4 others. I remeber looking at two others before I got mine. The other two were red 2.3s. One was auto. I went for the 3.0 because of the V6 and the Cardiff BGP was just too sexy. Besides, RED stands out and attracts more attention. Not fond of a lot of attention... especially from the five-O.
