Would it be cheaper

With all the money it takes to purchase, modify, and install a manual transmission into the 3.0's would it be cheaper to just purchase a H23 with the tranny and install that into the car?

If a reduction in speed doesn't matter, then go for it. If stock, the 2.3 would be slower than the 3.0.

Is the H23 the 195 HP prelude engine? I think what I really meant was H22A.

H23 is a 160 hp dohc non vtec engine from a prelude si. You really can't install any of the H or F series engines into a 3.0 with expensive moding to the engine bay and creating custom mounts. The 3.0 has very different mounts than the 2.2 and 2.3 CL so you really can't do that swap with out spending alot of money. IMO it really would not be worth it. It would be cheaper to buy a 5 spd CL and then do the h22 swap.
