what kind of box should i get?
u gotta tell me if this would bump or not cuz im new with this

 

i would get two of those amps. atleast one per aw. those pull alot of power, and one amp wont push both. sounds good though get a sealed box.

 

Ported is the way to go. With that big of subs this shit will be insanely loud with a ported box. But if you listen to a lot of rock as opposed to more rap, stick with a sealed box where the subs are also sealed from each other on the inside (if ya get what i mean).

 

should bump pretty good unless you buy it from ARABS

 

Oh man i went to bestbuy yesterday and check out their sub. I was really suprise with the JVC 12" subs...it was in a seal box and was sounding clean as hell compare to all the other one.

 

best buy = completly shitty. Somehow they make them sound good in-house, but don't buy subs from best buy!

 

gon on ebay get a jl w7 or orion hcca sub they are king shit i got 2 orion hcca 12's on ebay for 390 and they are brand new dont ever buy subs and amps from best buy walmart etc

 

some friends said that 10's would bump harder than 12's....that true?

 

Yeah 10's hit harder but are not as loud as 12's

 

false. 12's have more cone area but 10's will give you tighter bass because of there faster transit time. if you go ported you'll need a lot air space. just build a box the the spec that audiobahn give

 

10's hit FASTER than 12's. Like he said above fast transit time = tighter cleaner bass. Big ol' 12's with their inch or more travel = slower more muddled bass. So which do you want? Nice bass that works well for rock(and everything else), or LOUD bass that works well for rap(and nothing else)?

 

i dont listen to that much rock...just mostly rap, but would the 500 watt rms X 2 amp push both audiobahn subs that are 600 watt rms?

 

The amp can push the subs but you'll be underpowering them to say the least. If you're going to run the subs at 2 ohms, with your 500W amp you'll get 250W to each sup. If you get 2 500W amps then you can bridge the amp and run both subs at 500W a piece.

10's=thump
12's=thump then bass
15's=pure bass.

buddy of mine got 2 15" Alpine Type-R with 2 MTX D-serie amp in his 850 Volvo(dyomated).....u just feel the power at that point. before that he had 3 12" Type-R...man its crazy.

 

I work at Circuit City, and basically here is the DL. Best Buys products SUCK ASS! Basically the only thing they have that is good is a few rockfords, the good shit they dont have in the store. Never buy jensen, never buy a pioneer amp. Pioneer speakers, screens, head units are good. You want great speakers? Get Polk, Infinity, or alpine you wont regret it? You want Audiobahn? Get ONLY their single voice coil. Run a mono block amp and its nuts! You want a fuckin killer system? 2-3 Alpine Type R's, an MTX 800-1000 amp or an Alpine MRDM1000. Infinity makes a DV or DVQ series wich is so pimp. I am getting two 10" Infinity DVQ's The fuckin magnet is 9" wide all the way back!
