Is it worth Trading in a 99 CL at a Dealership for a upgrade to a 2003 Acura CL 3.2
I just bought the car about 3 months ago hit 40,000 miles added
Polk Audio db6500 6-1/2" Component System in the front
Polk Audio db 650 6-1/2" 2-way Speakers in rear
Pioneer DEH-P3700MP CD/MP3/WMA Receiver
10" Kicker
lame 5ch amp
Got muffler repaired due to the person i bought it from had it sitting for so long though way to many snow storms
Got the latest viper with auto start installed
Cleared out all the front lights
Since i live in nyc can't really drop the car or get rims since teh roads are junk here
bought the v2 aem intake
car cost me $9,500 has 4 years left and 60,000 left on warr
But its paid out right wonder how much i could get for it if i did a trade in or is it better just to mod it ?
only issue i have with modding it is nyc shops are way over priced and shady hard to find a shop to trust
guess i just want a little more peep from the car with out making the car sound like a ricer or just do a monthly payment and get a car that doesnt need to be modded :-P
so question are is it worth going for a 2003 cl s type
or finding a trust worthy shop to add the mods need in nyc (if there is such a thing :P)
need help decideding

You aint gonna get much for it but the 3.2 Cl Type S is sick. You can drop your car in NYC I know plenty of people rolling with a 3" drop and no complaints. It also depends where in NYC you plan on doing work.
In Upper Manhattan - Quarter Mile Performance 212-568-2040 on 400 Audubon Avenue real close to the GWB
In Brooklyn- 8671 18th Avenue Initial D Auto Salon -718-256-3004
And there is a guy on the 2nd Gen forum "Withoutcomp1" who works in a shop in Brooklyn and does sick ass work himself there. Check his out
If I knew I wouldn't get a 100 speeding tickets I would trade mine for a 3.2 anyday..

Dude, it is definately worth the upgrade. Though I'm not crazy about the 2nd gen body style, I am crazy about the 3.2 type s 6 speed. But I doubt you'll get a very god trade-in value for your cl. Dealers like to rape people on trade-in value.

I would take out your audio system and put it in your new car, as well as to try and sell your intake in the black market forum. Dealerships couldn't care less about upgrades you've done to your trade-in.
Also, you will definetely get more money if you sell your 1st gen yourself, but then you have to go through all the hassles that come along with it - you have to ask yourself if you want to invest that much time into it, or take the easy route and drop it off, get your trade-in money, and be done with it
On kbb.com, I found this -
Trade-in value - $9040
Private Party - $11,255
Take your pick...

most dealers frown on any kind of engine mods, they are ususally ok with audio mods. but they use the motor mods as an excuse to lower the prices because they say its bad and they assume that since u have a tricked out motor, u drove the shit out of the car.
however.............. Im sure you would be able to find nice homes for your mods if you do decide to sell them, that V2 is a hot item.

They will not give you anything extra for your system and the dealer isn't gonna give you squat for your car in a trade in BUT I would take the Type S over our cars any day. My car is paid off as well and I am always fighting the temptation to buy something different and have another car payment but I can't see myself doing it because it's still a damn nice car and it's paid off. Mines a 97 that I've owned since 98 and it's been paid off since 01.

dudes, 1st gen body style is way more sleek than 2nd gen, no comparison, get 2nd gen to either have more power or newer car, our cars look off the hook when mods are in place, i was looking at 2nd gen but i went with 1st gen after looking at both cars repeatedly and finally decided i wanted looks over power (although i do have the 99 3.0), but anyways, i saved 10k in the process, so that was another factor into it
