Is it worth it?

Alright guys im really complicating if i should start modding my 98 3.0 CL. This is my first car as well. The car has about 234,xxx km's on it which is about 146k miles. I dont know if its really worth modding a car with that many clicks on it. I was thinking of just keeping it as a daily driver and just save the modding money and what not towards another car. What are your thoughts?

some people with 3.0's have had problems with their trannies ^^^^^. so keep that in mind when putting money towards mods. higher milage cars are more likely to need repairing, so i guess it depends on what your bankroll is like.

Like everyone said its a personal choice. I worked full time this summer and spent well over a thousand just on repairs (brakes, timing belt, relays). I did put in an intake also. To me personally its not worth saving up money for mods by limiting money elsewhere. I'd rather keep my car running and spend money goin out etc than invest in body kits, rims, suspension. A car is just a way of getting from A to B IMO. So its your call.

If you want to add a bit more of your own flair to your ride, go for it!

As long as the car is structurally sound and you anticipate owning it for a few more years, then you may as well do it up right.

244 K isnt really that much. In harsher climates like Canada, your car will sooner fall apart from rust and salt damage than mechanical problems. Proper maintaince is easy to do where as weather is beyond your control. of course the 3.0 are known for the shit trannies and all CLs have faulty window regulators but other than that, with loving care you can go 400K. A friend of mine had 405K on his 90 accord exr before it died and he rebuilt the engine...but the body is so rusted thats its scary.

pretty sure they use sand as opposed to road salt over in BC so rusting should't be such a big problem. that road salt is really taking its toll on my car.

Def need a balance of both. I've spent more money on repairs than mods, and that's hard to believe

I got the same comment from like 3 or 4 shops when I had my led bars on like 2 years ago. Everyone was like damn that's a clean ass install, and you didn't even have any room to work with.

It still cracks me up you have pink neons on the cl, but it's coo you are all for modding and i like that

I have to get longer side skirts b/c you can see the tubes, so I hardly ever use them now All I've done to my car is what daddy's told me I can - nothing I can't take off ;( Being that I'm in Spartanburg, VERY few girls mod their cars, if anything their bf will do it or they'll buy it that way. You can't ask them about their cars b/c they don't have slightest clue what's goin' on with it - it's kinda sad

Thanks for the hun
